Exxon Mobil Corp. (NYSE:XOM) revealed in a disclosure report that they've spent $2.52 million in the second quarter on lobbying the Federal government.
While targeting a number of related issues, offshore drilling in the face of the BP (NYSE:BP) oil spill was among the more important.
Last year in the second quarter Exxon spent $.427 million on lobbying the Feds, and $3.39 million in the first quarter of 2010.
For the second quarter Exxon lobbied the Interior Department, Executive Office of the President and Congress.
Other areas of interest being lobbied were continuing sanctions on Iran and clean energy legislation.
The report was filed on July 20 with the House of clerk's office.
