In what is being considered the worst environmental disaster in history, BP (NYSE:BP) is ready to initiate a siphoning system.
There have been other attempts to get this catastrophe under control before reaching the land line. Last week, the attempt was made by BP to put a containment dome on top of the leak. The effort were futile.
President Obama has asked BP to pay for the Gulf spill cleanup as well as other impacts to the economy. The full amount of which is expected to be astronomical.
To get a permanent containment solution, it could take as long as 90 days. While waiting for some sort of solution, the slick is thinning out and endangering species. Tourism has also been affected on the Gulf Coast.
