Claims submitted for damages to BP (NYSE:BP) by businesses in the Gulf of Mexico region, should receive quicker payments, as the oil giant has created a team for that specific purpose.
Developed for "businesspeople who are suffering," the new team will be able to respond quicker with payments by reducing red tape and paperwork.
It has worked well over the last three days, as BP said about $9 billion has been paid out to close to 2,600 businesses.
What businesses need to do is communicate with their adjuster in order to be referred to what is dubbed the Immediate Action Claims Team.
Proper and accurate documentations is still needed to prove companies are eligible for payments.
